National Online Safety are delighted to be supporting Learning at Work Week 2020, which takes place from 5th - 11th October 2020 on the theme 'Learning Journeys'.

So, what 'learning journey' do we take our members on?

It is our mission to empower school leaders, educators and parents with the knowledge they need to keep children safe whilst they are online. To achieve this, we've developed a huge suite of online courses, webinars and guides to help trusted adults navigate and respond to online dangers.

When we say huge, we mean HUGE. Possibly the most comprehensive resource in the world to help trusted adults to stay ahead of the game and be able to respond to online risks as they arise.

What do educators really NEED TO KNOW when it comes to keeping children safe online?

Well - firstly, you need a basic understanding of your statutory responsibilities and how you are expected, in your role within the school, to help protect your pupils online. That's where our award-winning video CPD courses come in, available to all members to access online:

  • Online Safety Course for DSLs 2020/21
  • Online Safety Course for SENDCOs 2020/21
  • Online Safety Course for Teaching Staff 2020/21
  • Online Safety Course for Non-Teaching Staff 2020/21
  • Online Safety Course for Governors 2020/21
How are educators expected to KEEP UP-TO-DATE with evolving online risks?

The online world changes so quickly... Popular games, apps, platforms, devices are being updated before you've even had chance to understand what they are!

There's no excuse though... if you don't keep up, how can you keep them safe?

That's where our monthly update service comes in. Sort of like your online safety lead's best friend, it summarises the month's news and updates them with what they need to look out for in terms of new risks. To gain access to this fantastic service, get signed up here.

What's the BASIC LEVEL OF UNDERSTANDING you need to be able to effectively safeguard children online?

There's nothing basic about the world of online safety. However, you need some pointers in the right direction here. We've helped you with a vast array of explainer videos and guides to understand what the online risk is, what to look out for and what to do if you feel your child is in danger.
